Plastics have been found in almost every corner of our planet – choking marine wildlife, threatening biodiversity, and poisoning the soil and water we depend on. What’s more insidious is that this is just a part of Big Oil’s plan to keep us addicted to fossil fuels.

In the US, plastics production is expected to outpace coal plants in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. And the majority of these polluting plastics facilities are situated near low-income communities and communities of color already grappling with health disparities and climate injustice.

The good news is the Break Free From Plastic Pollution Act (BFFPPA) is back on the table.  

Recently reintroduced in Congress, this piece of legislation is our best shot at slashing plastic production, holding corporate polluters accountable, and protecting frontline communities.
