House Agriculture Committee chair Glenn Thompson plans to release a draft of the Farm Bill in which funding from the Inflation Reduction Act, which has been earmarked for climate-smart agriculture, would be reallocated to the general conservation title—flushing away billions in critical funding for reducing agricultural emissions.

Climate-smart agriculture benefits all farmers, especially young farmers and farmers who grow fruits and vegetables, by helping them adopt practices that improve air quality, water quality, and climate resilience. Cutting this funding would be a disaster for both farmers and the planet.

Now more than ever, we need to put every penny we can toward delivering bold, rapid climate action. Let's fight to keep the Farm Bill in committee until this critical issue is resolved.
