Climate champions are leaders who focus on the goals of mitigating and adapting to climate change based upon the best available science; who carry and secure passage of the laws and regulations needed to reach those goals; and who support clear public communication and accountability in our progress toward meeting the goals.

Some of our leaders already meet the definition, but we still need more in order to reach our goals since we have very limited time left and a long way to go.  We need all of our leaders to embrace this role and continue to improve where possible.  We also need all of our leaders to seek out and promote additional elected leaders to help, particularly for the crucial November 2024 election which will determine if we can make the progress we need before the end of this decade.

Let's ask our leaders to help promote those climate champions, at all levels, running for election this fall in every way they can.
