Tell Congress to challenge the Health Department's Dietary Guidelines for Americans
While the report makes some scientifically-supported recommendations, like decreasing consumption of ultraprocessed food and added sugars, the guidelines also recommend increasing saturated fat intake. In fact, the new food pyramid included in the guidelines goes so far as to place cheese and red meats high in saturated fats above plant-based proteins, like nuts. This increase in meat intake would not only have a negative impact on human health, but our environment.
