Ask Congress to conduct oversight regarding EPA's updated formaldehyde assessment
EPA's Updated Draft Risk Calculation Memorandum claims that unless individuals are exposed to formaldehyde at levels that cause irritation— around 0.3 ppm or more—they're protected from any health effects, including cancer. But it's a well-established fact that formaldehyde poses severe health risks—and can cause cancer—even at minimal exposure levels. In making these claims, EPA is directly contradicting the agency's previous findings and cancer guidelines, as well as the recommendations of leading public health bodies.
