Tell Congress to pass the FREEDOM Act and unleash U.S. clean energy!

China’s gigantic civilization-reshaping clean energy build-out just keeps on going. The 4 GW (4,000 MW) Lingwu renewables base came online on February 28, 2026, completing a 6 GW renewables network on former coal mining lands in the deserts of Ningxia Hui. It includes battery storage, drone inspections, and plans to support ecological recovery and grazing in between panel rows. Together, they’ll send 10.8 terawatt-hours of power through a cutting-edge nation-crossing ultra-high-voltage direct current (UHVDC) power line to Zhejiang province on the coast, enough to power 7.2 million households and replace 3.24 million tonnes of coal each year.

Futuristic clean super-grid projects like this are happening all the time now in China. But the U.S. suffers from constant insane political attacks on clean energy. Gigawatts of almost-ready-to-go clean power are blocked by the executive branch, adding a new level of self-sabotage to a U.S. energy situation that already had vast amounts of clean energy held up by interconnection queues and permitting delays.

And now, the White House has started a war with Iran on a whim, sending global oil and gas prices skyrocketing.

China is building large-nation-sized amounts of new power supply every year, and most of it is solar, wind, and batteries. China’s solar capacity alone is now past 1,200 GW, almost above the total U.S. grid capacity! China built 315 GW of new solar power and 119 GW of new wind power in 2025, again breaking their own record.

The U.S. is projected to build 86 GW of new power capacity from all sources in 2026, of which 93% are solar, wind, and batteries. The White House is crushing the power sources supplying almost all growth, right when China is letting them surge on a world-historic scale! Americans are living through an entirely self-inflicted U.S. electricity crisis that is seriously eroding America’s economy.  

Recently, a new desperately-needed bipartisan permitting reform bill was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives. Named the FREEDOM Act, it includes key provisions from the recent SPEED Act and GEO Act bills (neither of which passed) that would make it much easier to build energy projects in America without years of red tape.

Critically, the FREEDOM Act also includes extremely badly needed new legal protections to prevent the President abusing executive powers to cancel or pause energy projects.

Now that the economics are on the side of renewable energy, the final remaining barriers to effectively unlimited clean electricity are political and procedural. Permitting reform overwhelmingly benefits clean energy abundance and is quite simply the top priority for affordability, climate action, and national development.
