Tell Congress to pass the FREEDOM Act and accelerate clean energy abundance!
America is manufacturing more grid-scale batteries than ever before.

Tell Congress to pass the FREEDOM Act and accelerate clean energy abundance!

America’s domestic clean energy industry keeps on making progress despite insane political attacks! Solar is set to provide 51%, batteries 28%, and wind 14% of the record-high 86 GW of new U.S. power capacity planned for 2026, with gas just 7%.

And many begun-under-Biden battery factories have come online, making the U.S., now more than self-sufficient in battery manufacturing (though that’s still a small slice of world production and use). U.S. battery factories had the capacity to make 70 gigawatt-hours per year as of end-2025, set to rise to 145 GWh by end-2026, and the 28% of new capacity in 2028 accounted for by batteries will likely amount to 60 GWh.

This is the best the U.S. has ever done on clean energy manufacturing — but it’s still a relatively tiny slice of global production. A recent Rhodium Group report quantifies China maintaining an overwhelming lead in clean energy manufacturing. China now makes over 90% of humanity’s solar panels, 83% of batteries, 73% of wind turbines, and 66% of EVs. In deployment, China built 315 GW of new solar power and 119 GW of new wind power in 2025, again breaking their own record, while the U.S. is set to build 86 GW of new power from all sources combined in 2026.

As fossil fuel prices skyrocket, America badly needs to accelerate clean energy deployment to fight rampant inflation and secure energy independence. A new desperately-needed bipartisan permitting reform bill, the FREEDOM Act, would make it much easier to build energy projects in America without years of red tape.

Critically, the FREEDOM Act also includes extremely badly needed new legal protections to prevent the President abusing executive powers to cancel or pause energy projects, included expressly to prevent the exact kind of insane ideological attacks that have tried to strangle newborn American clean energy industries.

Now that the economics (and national security considerations!) are on the side of renewable energy, the final remaining barriers to effectively unlimited clean electricity are political and procedural. Permitting reform overwhelmingly benefits clean energy abundance and is quite simply the top priority for affordability, climate action, and national development.

Tell Congress to pass the FREEDOM Act and accelerate clean energy abundance!
