In the report, they break down their strategy into a few key areas: "rightsizing the product assortment, optimizing inventory management, improving dynamic markdown solutions and continuously expanding items eligible for donation."

Your 2024 Environmental, Social & Governance Report highlights the improvements Kroger has made in recent years, including the great strides you have made toward reducing your food waste footprint.
Since 2017, the amount of food waste generated in your stores has decreased by 20%, and in 2023 alone, your diversion rate increased from 27% to 52%. We are hopeful that your next report will reflect continued improvements and show that you have achieved your goal of 95% by 2025.
