We are sending out a call to action to oppose SB 1162 (Limon), which will be heard in the Assembly Appropriations Committee in a few weeks.
In 2020, SB 973 required businesses to start submitting pay data reports to the DFEH. Those reports are maintained by the DFEH and Labor Commissioner to be used for enforcement and analysis. Now, SB 1162 (Limon) seeks to require that all of those reports be posted online and identifiable by company. This will lead to a barrage of new litigation by plaintiffs’ attorneys, who have confirmed they will use this data to “hammer companies” with lawsuits, as well as public shaming of companies based on misleading data that does not show unlawful conduct.
We are asking you to reach out to your Legislators NOW to let them know that you OPPOSE SB 1162 (Limon).
Thank you in advance.
