On June 10th, from 10 AM to 3 PM, Dana-Farber's Legislative Action Network will join the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network's (ACS CAN’s) lobby day at the Massachusetts State House.
During this event, we will be advocating for legislation that would:
- Ensure insurance coverage for biomarker testing to enable all patients to get the right treatment at the right time.
- Expand access to patient navigation services, which help to guide patients through the medical system and connect them to necessary health care and social services.
- Reduce the incidence and death from pancreatic cancer by enhancing cancer prevention, screening, education, and support programs to improve early detection, increase awareness, and ensure patients receive comprehensive care.
Register for the ACS CAN Lobby Day on June 10th
The ACS CAN Lobby Day is a chance to connect with fellow advocates and share your stories with your state legislators. The day will include an impactful program, including issue briefings, social media activities, and scheduled time for you to meet with legislators to share your support for critical cancer-related legislation.
ACS CAN and Dana-Farber will provide all the training and support you need to prepare for your meetings.
If you have any questions, please reach out to ACS CAN Grassroots Manager Julia Seremba at julia.seremba@cancer.org or contact Dana-Farber's Manager of Government Affairs Yaminah Romulus at yaminah_romulus@dfci.harvard.edu.
If you’re unable to join us, you can still make a difference by asking your lawmakers to become co-sponsors of our priority legislation. Click here to learn more and find instructions on how to contact your elected officials.
Your voice matters. Together, we can continue to significantly impact the lives of those affected by cancer in our communities.
