FIVE Things Everyone Needs To Know about President Obama and 'LIFE'
|
|
|
From our good friends at Live Action Advocate:
This is an urgent call to action, with only 1 day left until election day. In these final days, we need to engage every person we know on the issues at stake and encourage people to get out and vote on Tuesday.
"On this fundamental issue [abortion], I will not yield and Planned Parenthood will not yield." - President Barack Obama
When discussing the candidates and the issues at stake with your family and friends, there are five things that you should make sure they know about President Barack Obama.
1) President Obama voted against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act FOUR times, horrifyingly voting against protecting babies who survived abortion and voting in favor of leaving them to die -- a vote against this legislation was a vote for infanticide. [Source]
2) On his third day in office, President Obama repealed the pro-life "Mexico City Policy". By doing this, President Obama made groups that perform and promote abortion eligible for U.S. foreign aid funds. [Source]
3) Planned Parenthood's funding jumped from 33% to nearly 50% -- over $487 million in taxpayer funding now goes to the abortion giant (under Obama and his administration). This is almost half a billion dollars that American families are forced to pay in tax dollars to the nation's largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood. [Source]
4) President Obama refused to sign an emergency budget, putting funding the military at risk, until Planned Parenthood funding was included in the budget. This was following Live Action's Sex Trafficking investigation, showing Planned Parenthood aiding and abetting the sex traffickers of underage girls. [Source]
5) The President has pushed for his 'pet legislation', The Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare), which would help fund 'community health centers' (Planned Parenthood is their prime target). Additionally, the HHS mandate would force all Americans to fund abortion and contraception, with no exceptions for religious institutions nor religious individuals who are vehemently against abortion and contaception. [Source]
Please continue to engage your friends and family, and encourage them to vote for life. Nothing is more fundamental to a society than the right to life. Life must come first when casting our ballot on Tuesday November 6th. Source here. |

"Prayer Targets: The Lord's Whirlwind; God's Interventions - Then & Now; Election Prayers"
|
|
|
From our friends at Family Research Council:
Behold, a whirlwind of the Lord has gone forth in fury-- A violent whirlwind! Jeremiah 23:19
Dear Praying Friends,
Hurricane Sandy has devastated much of the eastern seaboard and has done damage across the nation's northeast quadrant. As of this writing, it has killed 130 people: 59 people on the U.S. east coast (71 more in the Caribbean). It has displaced families, destroyed thousands of homes, left millions without power, and caused extensive public and private property damage in 21 states plus Washington, D.C. - not to mention lost personal and business income.
In January 2001, President George W. Bush closed his Inaugural Address with a quote from Virginia statesman John Page. Page, a longtime member of the Virginia House of Delegates, four term member of the U.S. House of Representatives, and Governor of Virginia, was the state's Lieutenant Governor when, on July 20, 1776, he wrote his close friend, Thomas Jefferson:
I am highly pleased with your Declaration. God preserve the United States - We know the Race is not to the swift nor the Battle to the strong - Do you now think an Angel rides in the whirlwind (and) directs this Storm?"
The Battle, Page wrote of, was the battle for freedom and the war with Great Britain. He was asking, "Do you believe God is with us?" President Bush said, "This work continues. This story goes on. And an Angel still rides in the Whirlwind and directs this storm..."
Little did George W. Bush know that just eight months later he would face 9-11, and the first foreign assault on American soil since Pearl Harbor. Little did he know that four years later, he would face Hurricane Katrina and three years later, the onslaught of the worst financial crisis the nation has faced since the Great Depression.
During the American Revolution, a praying Continental Congress called the shots and a praying General George Washington led the ill-equipped and outnumbered Continental Army to victory over the greatest military force in the world. History records fortuitous weather events - supernatural miracles at just the right time - off Brooklyn Heights, the Delaware River, at Yorktown, and more, that gave Americans the edge over Great Britain. The American nation was born and, as President Bush said, the work and story of American Liberty goes on.
But we are in a different day. Back then, we were still feeling the impact of the First Great Awakening (1730-1760). Americans, even those who had not experienced the new birth, held to a biblical view of morality, and our founders had a profound respect for the God of the Bible, recognizing Him as the author of human liberty. They established a Christian republic, openly acknowledged by all, until the 20th Century. The pastors and churchmen of the period saw civic involvement as a sacred duty. The British deplored and feared the Black-Robed Regiment. Then in the Second Great Awakening (1790-1845), Rev. Charles Finney similarly preached that political involvement was a sacred duty for all Christians, but especially pastors.
But over the past several decades, the American ship has veered far off course. Christians have allowed prayer and Bible reading to be removed from our public schools, the Ten Commandments to be removed from our public buildings, laws passed giving unlimited rights to divorce, the Constitution reinterpreted to allow for the killing of unborn children, the redefinition of marriage in six states, and the distribution of abortifacient drugs to all women at taxpayer expense. Now, our President declares America no longer to be a Christian nation and is implementing a socialistic economic vision for America, including socialized medicine. Moreover, he has snubbed our close ally, Israel, while appeasing the Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamist factions in the Middle East. Because God's blessing is tied to our nation's support for Israel, many believe this may be the last straw (see Gen 12:3). We are at a defining moment in our nation.
In the week leading up to our 2012 Presidential Election, we face the nation's worst economic troubles in decades, uproar in the Middle East involving the U.S., and another devastating natural disaster, the latest in a growing pattern of severe, destructive weather. "The annual number of billion-dollar disasters in the U.S. - earthquakes, floods, fires, hurricanes and more - has tripled since the 1980s, from two to about six per year. And 2011 was especially severe, with 14 separate $1 billion-plus weather events... Losses from U.S. natural disasters in 2011 topped $60 billion" (see Face the Facts).

WHITE HOUSE INSIDER: Mitt Romney's Quiet Prayer Amidst The Sound Of Thunder
|
|
|
A remarkable story from a longtime D.C. political operative of just how personally moved Mitt Romney was following a campaign stop in Red Rocks Colorado where over 10,000 enthusiastic supporters greeted the man they hope will be the next President of the United States.

Got this feedback earlier today and thought you’d like to hear it. You know, I’ve gone from just trying to defeat Obama to really trying to help Governor Romney be this country’s next president. I’m really starting to believe there might be something very special about this man. This took place out in Colorado. Just a couple days ago. Probably my favorite campaign trail story that’s come back my way so far this election. Wish I had been there. I’m going to try and get a little poetic on you here. Hope I pull it off OK and do this story justice. Feel free to help me out a bit in the telling. I would be embarrassed for people to know just how bad my spelling really is. And sadly, that’s not a joke. -INSIDER
As the governor was en route to the amphitheatre they were told the crowd was showing “strong numbers”. What greeted him was a lot more than just “strong numbers” though. It was a massive wave of thousands and thousands of supporters. Before going on the governor apparently peeked out a few times and was shaking his head in disbelief at just how many people were there to see him. He was told by organizers up to a thousand more were turned away because there simply wasn’t any room left. People said you could feel the size of the crowd under your feet backstage. Somebody had passed out a ton of “thundersticks” and the people were banging them together and making this amazing rumbling noise. There were some real veteran campaigners backstage and I’m told they were all blown away by this crowd in Colorado. It really was like some big time rock show. Just a huge response for the governor.
So Governor Romney goes onstage and gives his speech. The crowd just totally embraces him. From beginning to end. Every word. They are fired up. Loud. Positive. Cheering. Just an amazing moment for the campaign. Everybody backstage were all smiles and peeking out at all those people and shaking their heads. This is the kind of moment in a campaign you never forget. Ever. Nobody who hasn’t experienced it can really understand this feeling. You’re looking at a candidate being transformed right in front of your eyes into the next Leader of the Free World. They go from being human into something just a bit more. It’s all those people. That energy. It kind of fills the candidate up and makes them bigger than life. And you are watching it happen in real time. Right then. Read more here. |

DOJ sends voting rights monitors, observers to 23 states [including Tennessee]
Washington (CNN) - The Justice Department Friday announced that it is dispatching more than 780 federal observers and monitors to 23 states to watch for potential problems which would violate voting rights protected by federal law.
The Justice Department said it was sending observers to 51 jurisdictions in those states to help enforce federal voting rights laws which protect ballot access.
In addition to concern about discrimination based on languages and ethnicity, the federal officials will be ensuring voters with disabilities are accommodated, and ensuring that no procedures are used to subject voters to different procedures on the basis of race, color or national origin.
Many of the locations being targeted for the 2012 general election have appeared on similar lists for past elections. Justice officials say the federal monitors will maintain low profile positions, and will not be involved in the voting process unless problems arise.
The total of 780 officials is about the same size as the contingent sent to watch the 2008 presidential election.
Jon Greenbaum, Chief Counsel for the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, says his organization is generally pleased with the locations selected for federal monitoring. The organization successfully pushed, for example, for monitors to be sent to Maricopa County, Arizona because of potential problems for Hispanic voters, and the group noted potential for discrimination against black voters in Alabama and Mississippi counties. Republicans strengthen hold on state politics
Tennessee has turned an even deeper shade of red, according to the latest poll conducted by Middle Tennessee State University.
The poll, which was released earlier this week, suggests Tennessee’s voters, especially political independents and those 45 or younger, are leaning further to the right than any other time in the past.
“At least two trends playing out in Tennessee run counter to what seems to be happening nationally in this election,” said Ken Blake, director of the MTSU Poll. “First, President (Barack) Obama is behind Gov. (Mitt) Romney among younger Tennesseans and has lost substantial ground in that demographic since the 2008 election. Nationally, Obama has lost some ground among younger voters since 2008 but still leads Romney by a comfortable margin. Meanwhile, the economy – a primary issue for voters nationally – seems to be taking a back seat to values among Tennessee voters.”
The Republican Party has clearly been gaining ground in Tennessee. All but six Tennessee counties voted Republican in 2008.
In 2010, Republicans won both the governor’s office and control of the Tennessee General Assembly for the first time since Reconstruction.
But the analysis, which compares the latest MTSU Poll results with exit poll data from 2008, shows where the state’s red shades have grown especially deep: among whites, the college educated, political independents, those under 45, and men.
“There’s compelling evidence here that Republicans have gained – and Democrats lost – substantial ground in several Tennessee voter segments, especially politically unaffiliated and younger to middle-aged voters,” Blake said. Read more here.

MTSU Poll Says 81 Percent Of Tennesseans Support Voter ID Law
State Senator Bill Ketron (R-Murfreesboro) said Tuesday he is very pleased that a Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) poll shows Tennesseans continue to express strong support for the state’s new voter identification law after implementation. The poll, conducted by MTSU’s Survey Group, showed 81 percent of Tennesseans continue to support the law, which took effect Jan. 1, and has applied to numerous elections conducted since that date.
“We continue to have strong support for this law both in Tennessee and nationwide,” said Senator Ketron. “But, it is very reassuring that voters in our state continue to overwhelmingly favor it after the law has been put into practice.”
The poll showed that “four out of every five Tennessee likely voters approve of the state’s new law requiring people to show an approved photo ID before voting. Just 16 percent oppose the measure, and 3 percent are unsure.” In his detailed analysis, Dr. Ken Blake, director of the MTSU Survey Group, wrote, “What opposition there is to the photo ID requirement is strongest among Democrats, 34 percent of whom oppose the law compared to only about 13 percent of independents and about four percent of Republicans.” Read more here.
