Super Tuesday
|
|
|
Tomorrow is Super Tuesday, the biggest day of the 2016 primary season, with 12 states and one territory participating: Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Wyoming and American Samoa.
What happens tomorrow will dramatically impact the 2016 Presidential Primary. That is a given. Personally I have become more and more concerned about the direction the primary has taken where calm discussion about the issues has gone by the wayside. Nevertheless, it is VITAL that people VOTE. If you have not early voted, please don't let anything keep you away from the polls tomorrow.
As I was reading the Scripture in one of my devotion books the other day, this passage jumped out at me. I don't know what God is up to and I don't know what is going to happen during this primary season, nor would I even hazard a guess as to what will happen in November, but I do take comfort in the fact that, regardless of what it LOOKS like, God is still in control. I say that even as I tremble for my country. There are no sweat beads on his forehead, he is NOT pacing around the Throne wringing His hands. He IS Sovereign Commander of the Universe.
Our RESPONSIBILITY is to pray, vote, and pray some more.
Isaiah 46:8-13a
8 "Remember this, keep it in mind,
take it to heart, you rebels.
9 Remember the former things, those of long ago;
I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is none like me.
10 I make known the end from the beginning,
from ancient times, what is still to come.
I say, 'My purpose will stand,
and I will do all that I please.'
11 From the east I summon a bird of prey;
from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose.
What I have said, that I will bring about;
what I have planned, that I will do.
12 Listen to me, you stubborn-hearted,
you who are now far from my righteousness.
13 I am bringing my righteousness near,
it is not far away;
and my salvation will not be delayed. |

UPDATE on YES on 1 campaign that passed Amendment 1

From our friends at Tennessee Governmental Alliance and TN Right to Life:
Judge Kevin Sharp has announced that oral arguments will begin on April 5, 2016 in the lawsuit brought by Planned Parenthood Board Chair Tracey George against the people of Tennessee. Pro-abortion activists claim that the state's method of counting votes on Amendment 1 favored supporters of the amendment and violated the voting rights of pro-abortion Tennesseans who opposed it. The trial had previously been scheduled to begin on March 8. Go here for more details on the pending lawsuits and why and when they were filed.
Also pending, is a second lawsuit brought by the owner-operators of unlicensed abortion facilities in Bristol and Nashville. This case challenges the recently enacted protections made possible by the passage of Amendment 1 in November of 2014. These enacted protections include a requirement that abortion facilities be inspected and licensed by the Department of Health, informed consent and a 48-hour waiting period for women and girls considering abortion, and a requirement that abortion providers hold admitting privileges at a local hospital.
The TN statutes are similar to those currently being challenged at the U.S. Supreme Court. Both sides have agreed to delay hearing of the case pending the outcome of Whole Woman's Health v Hellerstedt. However, due to the untimely passing of pro-life Justice Antonin Scalia the outcome of this case is unclear. Obviously, there is a great need for prayer on behalf of those fighting in defense of Amendment 1, and the unborn of our state and nation. We are grateful for Attorney General Herbert Slatery for defendgng Amendment 1 and TN's pro-life policies. Let us also remember to pray daily for a righteous replacement for Justice Antonin Scalia. This key and strategic appointment to our U.S Supreme Court will carry a deep and lasting footprint in our nation.

George Soros Spending Over $21 Million to Replace Scalia With a Liberal Activist
|
|
|
THIS IS JUST ONE MORE REASON THE ELECTION IS IMPORTANT!!
Alatheia Larsen Feb 22, 2016 | 5:22PM Washington, DC
In the wake of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia's unfortunate death, several liberal groups - including the media favorite, People for the American Way - are pushing the Obama Administration to quickly nominate a like-minded justice. And the groups all have something in common.
Money.
Combined, Soros and the Ford Foundation (not connected to Ford Motor Company) gave at least $50 million, and possibly more, to organizations which hope to push the court further to the left through an Obama appointee.
Liberal media are pushing the same agenda by criticizing the GOP for wanting to delay a nomination. CBS and NBC blasted 'the Republican roadblock" that they claimed was an attempt to not "follow the Constitution" on Feb. 16. NBC also gushed that Democrats were "firing back" to support the "ironclad" Constitution.
On Feb. 17, 2016, The New York Times identified six of the liberal organizations behind the push to get an Obama nominee quickly confirmed. Nearly all of the groups, which ranged from People for the American Way to the League of Conservation Voters, have one donor in common: liberal billionaire George Soros (The sixth organization - Americans United for Change - does not disclose its donors). The Ford Foundation has given to at least three of those organizations as well.
Since 2003, Soros gave $18,032,900 to People for the American Way, The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, and Alliance for Justice. The Ford Foundation gave an additional $28,907,564 to those same groups during the same time period.
Soros donated an additional $3,500,000 to the liberal American Bridge 21st Century and League of Conservation Voters PACs, which are also pushing for a speedy Obama nomination.

Not only do the groups have overlapping donors, their carefully crafted justice nomination rhetoric was also eerily similar.
Between Feb. 15, and Feb. 19, 2016, People for the American Way (PFAW), The American Bridge 21st Century PAC, The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, and the Alliance For Justice (AFJ) all condemned so-called Republican "obstructionists" who would dare object to an Obama Supreme Court justice nominee.
People for the American Way promoted a petition on its website telling senators to "do your job" by considering an Obama nominee. As of Feb. 19, 2016, it had more than 51,000 signatures. PFAW's reach extends beyond just its readers, because the liberal media regularly turn to PFAW for hit jobs against conservatives. Soros gave PFAW $6,450,000 since 2003.

Abortion Clinics Closing at Record Pace as More Babies Saved From Abortions
Micaiah Bilger Feb 24, 2016 | 11:41AM Washington, DC
A new report paints a hopeful picture for unborn babies in America.
Abortion clinics are closing at a record pace across the country as they fail to meet new health and safety requirements and the demand for their business drops, according to a Bloomberg analysis.
While abortion activists blame the closures on laws that require basic health and safety protections for patients, the report indicates that many factors are involved, including the lack of business and fewer doctors willing to do abortions. These numbers, coupled with plunging national abortion statistics, point to the fact that fewer women actually want abortions. As modern technology shows clear pictures of unborn babies in the womb, and as more pro-life groups offer women alternatives to abortion, more women have access to the education and resources to choose life for their unborn babies.
Since 2011, at least 162 abortion clinics have shut or stopped doing abortions; 21 new abortion clinics opened in that same time period, the report states. The top four states that saw abortion clinics close were Texas with 30-plus, Iowa with 14, Michigan with 13 and California with 12, according to the report. A report from Operation Rescue also showed 53 abortion clinics closed in 2015 alone.
Lack of business has been a major factor in the closing of abortion clinics, according to the Bloomberg report. The news group found that of the 162 abortion clinics that closed, 19 percent were in counties with fewer than 100,000 people. This seems to indicate that rural abortion clinics aren't doing as well financially. Last week, a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in Blacksburg, Virginia announced that it was closing for this very reason, LifeNews reported. A Bridgeport, Connecticut abortion clinic also told Bloomberg it closed in 2015 because of reduced demand.
Another interesting fact from the report showed a number of abortion clinics closed because the abortionists were deemed "unfit to practice," while others closed because they could not find a doctor willing to do abortions. Michigan specifically had two abortionists who were labeled "unfit to practice," according to the report.
The large number of abortion facilities that closed in California is interesting, given that state lawmakers are very supportive of abortion and even have passed several dangerous laws in the same time period that are meant to expand abortion. This also seems to signal that fewer women are having abortions.
