Good morning

As we approach SANCTITY OF LIFE SUNDAY, we should take a few moments to think and pray about this most fundamental issue that we face today.  The 'culture of death' that has been created in the country plays out in so many tragic ways on a daily basis.

Black Leaders Tell Supreme Court: Abortion is Racist, "Long History" of Targeting Black Babies

NATIONAL   MICAIAH BILGER   JAN 8, 2020   |   11:50AM    WASHINGTON, DC

African American leaders urged the U.S. Supreme Court to recognize how abortion hurts the black community in an amicus brief filed ahead of an important abortion case.

The Daily Wire reports the brief represents the voices of prominent African American pro-life leaders, including Ryan Bomberger, Alveda King, the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Dean Nelson, Catherine Davis, Stacy Washington, Walter and Lori Hoye and Day Gardner.

They asked the high court to uphold a Louisiana law that requires doctors who do abortions to have hospital admitting privileges for patient emergency situations. A pro-life, African American Democrat lawmaker, state Rep. Katrina Jackson, sponsored the legislation. The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear the case, June Medical Services v. Gee, in March.

Citing the poor treatment of black women and their unborn babies, the pro-life leaders argued that the abortion industry has "a long history involving unqualified and uncredentialed abortion providers disproportionately harming black women," the report states.

They pointed to the horrors uncovered during the prosecution of Philadelphia abortionist Kermit Gosnell less than 10 years ago. Louisiana lawmakers passed the hospital admitting privileges law in response to the Gosnell case.

For years, Gosnell subjected primarily minority women to horrific conditions inside his abortion facility. According to the Grand Jury report, his treatment was racist as well.

"... white women were attended to by a doctor and black women were pawned off on clueless untrained staffers," the investigation found.

"A nineteen-year-old girl was held for several hours after Gosnell punctured her uterus. As a result of the delay, she fell into shock from blood loss and had to undergo a hysterectomy," according to the report.

Abortionist Quits After a Dream: "These Children are the Ones You Killed With Your Abortions"

INTERNATIONAL   MICAIAH BILGER   JAN 11, 2017   |   6:02PM    WASHINGTON, DC

Nightmares and dreams about children plagued Stojan Adasevic for years while he worked as an abortionist for communist Serbia.

In 26 years, Stojan aborted approximately 48,000 unborn children, including his own relatives. According to his communist country, however, he only was removing blobs of tissue.

The National Catholic Register reports Stojan had a conversion experience, partially as a result of his dreams, and he now is one of the strongest advocates for unborn babies' lives in Eastern Europe.

Here's more from the report:

In describing his conversion to La Razon, Adasevic "dreamed about a beautiful field full of children and young people who were playing and laughing, from four to 24 years of age, but who ran away from him in fear. A man dressed in a black and white habit stared at him in silence. The dream was repeated each night and he would wake up in a cold sweat.

One night Stojan asked the man in black and white in his frightening dream as to his identity.

"My name is Thomas Aquinas," he responded. Stojan, educated in communist schools that pushed atheism instead of real learning, didn't recognize the Dominican saint's name

NFL Player Ben Watson: "Abortion Will Not End Until Men Stand Up" for Women and Children

NATIONAL   LAUREN ENRIQUEZ   JAN 10, 2017   |   7:52PM    WASHINGTON, DC

Human Coalition has launched two resources aimed at equipping men for their role in ending abortion.

Abortion: The Ultimate Exploitation of Women, by Human Coalition President Brian E. Fisher, examines men's role in subjugating women with abortion, challenging men to engage in the pro-life cause. Alongside the book, Human Coalition created an online resource center: AbortionExploitsWomen.com. The resources will equip men to fight for life in a sex-obsessed culture which has accepted abortion as "a women's issue."

Benjamin Watson, Super Bowl champion and author, said: "It is past time for men to be the leaders, caretakers and protectors they were created to be. As with many other social injustices, abortion will not end until men stand up for both the lives of the innocent and the mothers in crisis. While it has been attractively packaged by some, abortion is the most egregious social injustice of our time. This book, as well as the work of Human Coalition, has and will continue to play a vital role in encouraging men to understand, confront, and embrace their responsibility in righting this wrong during what has proved to be a very unpopular time to do so. We cannot remain silent."

Post-abortive men, too, are beginning to take up the rallying cry. Human Coalition's Jeff Bradford experienced a deeply wounding abortion loss that he says could have been avoided if there had been a voice advocating life in his circumstances. Bradford shared: "My daughter, who would now be 25 years old, would be alive today if someone had stood in the gap for us. This is why education, communication and resources to equip men to stand up for our sons and daughters are so vital. I believe God is calling men to be men and help lead the way to ending the greatest holocaust of our day."

NOTE:  OK I just added this final article because I found it so encouraging as we anticipate the very important election cycle!!

Pro-Life Michigan Senate Candidate John James Outraises Pro-Abortion Senator Gary Peters

STATE   MARY MARGARET OLOHAN   JAN 8, 2020   |   3:57PM    LANSING, MICHIGAN

GOP U.S. Senate contender John James announced Tuesday that he outraised his Democratic incumbent in a state President Donald Trump won in the 2016 election.

James's campaign announced that it outraised rival Democratic Sen. Gary Peters by $1 million in the fourth quarter of 2019, reporting fundraising numbers of $3.5 million. The announcement came around an hour after Peters said his campaign raised about $2.5 million and has $8 million in cash on hand, which is a state record for end-of-the-year cash on hand, according to Michigan Live.

James's campaign did not report how much cash on hand it had.
