High Fidelity
Marking the Fifth Anniversary of the Death of Phyllis Schlafly
SEPTEMBER 5, 2021
by Anne Schlafly Cori, Chairman, Eagle Forum
My mother, Phyllis Schlafly, signed all of her letters "Faithfully, Phyllis".
Faith was the key to the life of Phyllis Schlafly. She had faith in God and Jesus Christ as her Savior. She was faithful in her marriage to her husband, Fred. She was faithful to our nation, the United States of America. Phyllis spent her life promoting and protecting America.
Today is the anniversary of her death on September 5, 2016. I honor the legacy of my mother's faithfulness. Her word was always true and she was always faithful.
The 43-year marriage of my parents is a study in fidelity. My father fully supported my mother in four key ways: spiritually, financially, intellectually, and emotionally. He was her rock. Fred Schlafly also protected my mother; I well remember the day when he summarily fired a male employee who attempted to get physically close to my mother. My mother cared for my father during his lengthy decline into dementia and Fred died at home. She then had 23 years of widowhood and never considered remarriage or removing her wedding ring. As Paul Newman said, "I have steak at home; why should I go out for hamburger?"
Psaki Refuses to Discuss 'Leaked' Transcript of Biden's Phone Call with Former Afghan President
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on Wednesday refused to discuss the transcript of a shocking phone conversation between Joe Biden and then-Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, even though she once called for more transparency regarding a phone call between President Trump and Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelensky.
During the phone call in question, Biden pressured Ghani to create the "perception" that the Taliban weren't winning, "whether it's true or not," knowing that the insurgents had already taken over about half the country.
"I need not tell you the perception around the world and in parts of Afghanistan, I believe, is that things are not going well in terms of the fight against the Taliban," Biden said during the July 23 phone call, according to a transcript and audio obtained by Reuters. "And there is a need, whether it is true or not, there is a need to project a different picture."
The White House has repeatedly claimed that the State Department, for months, urged Americans to leave the country, implying that if they were still there when the Taliban took over, it was their own fault. This bombshell transcript reveals that weeks before the Taliban overran the country, Biden was urging the Afghan president to project a sense of calm to give everyone the wrong impression.
"I'm not a military guy, so I'm not telling you what that plan should precisely look like, you're going to get not only more help, but you're going to get a perception that is going to change in terms of how ... um ... our allies and folks here in the States and other places think you're doing," Biden said.
Asked on Wednesday about the transcript, which has led to calls for Biden's impeachment, Jen Psaki replied, "I'm not going to get into private diplomatic conversations or leaked transcripts of phone calls."
Task Force Pineapple: New York teacher, an ex-Green Beret, among US vets assisting Afghanistan evacuations
'Pineapple Express' pipeline funneling people to safety amid Taliban threat By Greg Norman | Fox News August 31, 2021
A former U.S. Army Green Beret-turned social studies teacher who is helping facilitate evacuations from Afghanistan told Fox News on Monday that he and other special forces personnel are "playing the long game" and "are not leaving [anyone] behind" as the Aug. 31 deadline for American troops to leave the country is now only hours away.
Zac Lois and other American veterans have banded together as Task Force Pineapple, establishing a "Pineapple Express" pipeline to Kabul's airport and other parts of the country that he says has brought more than 1,000 people to safety, including American citizens, Afghan special forces soldiers and government officials, and other foreign nationals.
"We have developed kind of an underground railroad, we have shepherds that guide flocks... its special operations personnel coaching, teaching, guiding and advising in most cases our brothers that we served with," Lois, who teaches eighth-graders in Syracuse, N.Y., told Fox News. "The U.S. government is sending us people as well that need help getting out, so we are in coordination and we are working with the U.S. government."
State Dept blocking private rescue flights from leaving Afghanistan, organizers say: 'Blood is on their hands'
Americans involved in private evacuation efforts tell Fox News that the State Department is the only reason their planes haven't left Afghanistan By Houston Keene , Peter Hasson | Fox News September 5, 2021
FIRST ON FOX: Americans engaged in the rescue of U.S. citizens, SIVs and green card holders left behind by President Biden in Afghanistan are horrified by what they describe as inexplicable delays from the State Department that are preventing evacuation flights from leaving the country.
The State Department's delays are recklessly endangering American lives, three different individuals involved in the private evacuation effort told Fox News.
Rick Clay, who runs the private rescue group PlanB, told Fox News that the State Department is the only thing preventing the flights he's organizing from leaving Afghanistan.
Two other American individuals separately involved in evacuation efforts, whom Fox News is not naming to avoid jeopardizing ongoing rescue efforts, similarly said that the State Department is the sole entity preventing their charter flights from leaving Afghanistan.
"This is zero place to be negotiating with American lives. Those are our people standing on the tarmac and all it takes is a -------- phone call," one of those individuals, who has been integral to private evacuation efforts from Afghanistan, told Fox News.
"If one life is lost as a result of this, the blood is on the White House's hands. The blood is on their hands," that individual said, adding: "It is not the Taliban that is holding this up - as much as it sickens me to say that - it is the United States government."
That individual suggested that the State Department's obstruction is motivated in part by embarrassment that private individuals are rescuing Americans that the U.S. government left behind.
No, Ivermectin Overdoses Didn't Overwhelm Oklahoma Hospitals And Force Gunshot Victims To Wait
By Ashe Schow Sep 5, 2021 DailyWire.com
A story circulating social media on Saturday - thanks to it being picked up by Rolling Stone and Rachel Maddow - claimed that hospitals in Oklahoma have been overwhelmed with people overdosing on horse dewormer, leaving gunshot victims in the lurch.
The story on its face was absurd, yet multiple media outlets pushed the claim, based on the word of a single doctor who gave an interview to KFOR. That doctor, Jason McElyea, claimed that the emergency rooms in Oklahoma "are so backed up that gunshot victims were having hard times getting to facilities where they can get definitive care and be treated." "All of their ambulances are stuck at the hospital waiting for a bed to open so they can take the patient in and they don't have any, that's it," McElyea added. "If there's no ambulance to take the call, there's no ambulance to come to the call."
That, combined with an unrelated quote about hospital capacity, formed the basis of Rolling Stone's article insisting people are ingesting Ivermectin - a drug that has approved uses for humans and animals - at such high rates they are overwhelming hospitals.
