Good morning

After sending the SPECIAL EDITION yesterday, I hurried out of the house to drive to an appointment in Smyrna.  As I drove, I thought:  There is so much more to this story that I wanted to acknowledge.

The opposition to the Roe v Wade decision in 1973 was immediate. Pro-life organizations rose to the battle all over the nation.

Our battle began by opposing the proposed Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) to the US Constitution, which reared its ugly head in 1972, then the next year came the Roe v Wade decision.

Founder Phyllis Schlafly was a true visionary and immediately understood the fact that adding the ERA to the Constitution could mean: since only women can have abortions, restrictions on the procedure could be found unconstitutional under the Equal Rights Amendment.

Under Phyllis' leadership, that decision just encouraged us to be all the more dedicated to our active opposition to both the ERA and abortion.  The ERA was finally defeated, but abortion continued.

Nearly 50 years -- think about that.  How many people dedicated their entire lives to this issue - including Phyllis Schlafly- and didn't live to see this God-given victory!!

Now here is the real kicker: In the past few years, supporters have tried to 'resurrect' the defeated ERA.  Want to guess why?  Because they were afraid the Supreme Court would overturn Roe v Wade.  As usual, visionary Phyllis was right on target!!

What so many do not know: The present Republican Platform is Pro-Life BECAUSE of Phyllis. I heard someone on the radio say recently that the Republican Platform had ALWAYS been pro-life.  I am sending him one of Phyllis' books.

In January 22, 1973, the United States Supreme Court struck down abortion laws across the U.S. in the preeminent act of judicial supremacy. In response, Phyllis Schlafly and others like her began a decades-long fight to make the Republican Party a pro-life party. That fight continues to this day. This is Phyllis' story of the ongoing war to protect the lives of the most innocent among us.

"[She's] been out front on so many of the most important issues of our time. [Her] work is an example to all those who would struggle for an America that is prosperous and free. Our nation needs the kind of dedicated service [Phyllis] and Eagle Forum have demonstrated. She's darned effective." - President Ronald Reagan

Truly, every person that PRAYED, worked in and/or supported a pregnancy center, mailed a letter, licked a stamp (in the old days), made a phone call, showed up at their state capitol, talked to a legislator, worked in a campaign (or financially supported) a pro-life candidate for office, sent an email or a text in defense of LIFE, provided financing, or joined in the hard work of passing the amendment to the TN Constitution in 2014, this is YOUR victory.

And below is another victory!  Just look at these pictures! We now have MANY in this generation who know and support the TRUTH about a very important issue:  The RIGHT TO LIFE!!
