Sen. Hagerty: Biden Will Allow Two Times Tennessee’s Population in Illegal Aliens to Enter Country October 27, 2022 Peter D'Abrosca
A U.S. senator from Tennessee slammed President Joe Biden for his open borders policies, and contextualized the amount of illegal aliens who will cross into the United States under the Biden administration.
“With an estimated 5,500,000 illegal border crossings so far, Biden is on track over a 4-year term to allow illegal immigration in an amount nearly double the entire population of Tennessee,” Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-TN) said Tuesday on Twitter.
He also noted that America has a crisis of fentanyl overdoses, a potent deadly drug which is often used to lace other drugs. Fentanyl is produced abroad and brought to the United States, largely through the open southern border.
‘Root causes’ aren’t behind migrant surge — it’s open borders
As the nation’s “Border Czar,” Vice President Kamala Harris is 20 months into carrying out the White House’s signature “root causes” immigration plan to bring order and security to America’s southern border. The idea behind it was that if America fixes the poverty, physical insecurity, and bad governance that drive emigration from three big sending nations — Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador — its citizens will rather stay home.
Voila! American border squared away.
So how’s that root causes nation-building project working out so far?
Short answer: About as well as the idea worked for European liberals who first concocted the root-causes doctrine in the early 1980s, resurrected it after the catastrophic mass migration of 2014-2015, and have seen it fail miserably ever since. Border Patrol apprehension numbers, widely regarded as the chief indicator of total crossings, is the ultimate progress report.
In 2020 when Donald Trump was in office, Border Patrol caught 106,762 Hondurans, Guatemalans and Salvadorans. By the end of fiscal 2021, they’d caught 701,049. Border Patrol caught another 505,448 this fiscal year with another month left to count.
Anyone endowed with basic critical thinking and research skills could have predicted this American policy failure, but it was never even lightly challenged. When the Joe Biden campaign first appropriated Europe’s failed liberal social engineering experiment as its chief immigration policy, star-struck American media never bothered to dig into its long, sorry history or demand details for how much it would cost. No one asked when, exactly, the White House would consider Central America “fixed” enough to declare U.S. border security success.
And most importantly, “root causes” ignores a simple equation: People decide to jump the southern border when federal government policies let them illegally cross and stay for long enough to earn back many times the smuggling fee money they borrowed. When they feel the odds of that happening are high, they come. They stay home when they see they’ll be turned away at the American border or be quickly deported to square one, with nothing to show for the smuggling money fortunes they gambled.
Illegal migrants wave Venezuelan flag after crossing US southern border, attack Border Patrol agents
In Del Rio Sector alone, there have been over 50 large groups of more than 100 migrants since Oct. 1
A massive group of illegal migrants Monday crossed into the U.S. waving a large Venezuelan flag and, according to Customs and Border Protection (CBP), attacked Border Patrol agents before being pushed back into the river as agents used crowd-control measures.
The incident, partially caught on video, saw a group of Venezuelan migrants crossing illegally into El Paso, Texas, as they waved the enormous flag. Agents can be seen pushing migrants back into the river while firing pepper balls near them to control the crowd.
In a statement, CBP said a group of Venezuelans had attempted to illegally enter the U.S. while protesting along the Rio Grande’s international boundary.
The agency said one of the protesters assaulted an agent with a flagpole while another threw a rock at agents, injuring one in the process. That in turn led Border Patrol to initiate crowd-control measures.

"These measures included the use of the authorized less-lethal force pepperball launching system," the statement said. "The crowd then dispersed and returned to Mexico."
The agency said that its Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) will review the incident.
The chaotic incident comes as the migrant crisis, which has roiled the southern border since early 2021, continues to see streams of large groups of migrants cross into the U.S. illegally. On Tuesday morning, a group of 300 mostly single adults crossed illegally into Normandy, Texas.
Immigration Records Show Pelosi Attacker in Country Illegally, Officials Say November 2, 2022 Just the News
by John Solomon
David DePape, the man accused of attacking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, entered the United States from Canada 22 years ago and never sought legal status after that, making him an illegal alien in the eyes of the U.S. government, officials told Just the News.
U.S. immigration records show DePape is a Canadian citizen born in 1980 and he last lawfully entered the United States on Aug. 6, 2000, the officials said.
That means DePape would have been allowed to stay in the United States for six months on a visitor visa, and any stay beyond Feb. 6, 2001 would be considered unlawful, barring any request for legal status, officials said.
There is no record that he later sought legal status, such as claiming marriage to an American, officials said.
The record is consistent with someone the U.S. government would consider an illegal immigrant, the officials said.
San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins on Monday announced a host of charges, including attempted murder, against DePape in the home invasion attack early Friday on Paul Pelosi.
US-funded drag shows in Ecuador draw GOP scrutiny: 'Wokified' State Department
The State Department funded 13 drag performances at a cultural center in Ecuador
In recent weeks, House Republicans have introduced legislation barring the use of federal funds for sexually explicit programs, including drag shows and drag queen story hour events. The move has come as a number of these events have drawn public outrage from public school parents across the country.
EXCLUSIVE: The Biden administration is under fire for spending more than $20,000 in taxpayer dollars to fund drag shows in Ecuador.
House Republicans are demanding answers from the State Department over a September decision to approve a $20,600 grant to Ecuador’s Abraham Lincoln North American Cultural Center. The grant is for the center to provide three workshops, 13 drag performances and the creation of a two-minute documentary.
"President Biden has ‘wokified’ the State Department and is misusing taxpayer money to implement a radical and unpopular agenda abroad," said Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz. "This initiative does not enhance national security, advance national interests or support U.S. foreign policy."
Biggs and nearly a dozen other GOP lawmakers sent a letter Thursday to Secretary of State Antony Blinken requesting information about the decision behind the grant. Republicans are also eager to learn if the State Department is funding other drag performances with taxpayer money.
"Promoting the radical Left’s woke ideology is not an appropriate use of taxpayer dollars and promoting drag does not relate in any way to the objective above," the letter said. "Instead of funding drag theater programs, your department should focus its limited resources on advancing America’s national interests, not the left’s agenda."
