AB 2365 (Sanchez) expands on student safety by strengthening rules for school employees who commit serious misconduct. It expands the definition of “egregious misconduct” to include additional crimes such as human trafficking, child abuse or neglect, child abduction, and inappropriate communication with minors meaning sexual or predatory contact, such as messaging a minor with the intent to commit a sexual offense. The bill also permanently blocks any certificated school employee who is dismissed for this type of misconduct from working in any education-related job in California.
Status: Referred to Assembly Appropriations Committee.
