Encourage Congress Members to Sponsor Credit for Caring Act
HCAOA has joined a coalition of nearly 100 senior advocacy groups to support the Credit for Caring Act (H.R. 3321/S. 1670), which provides eligible family caregivers a tax credit of $5,000 for out-of-pocket expenses related to caring for a loved one at home. Family caregivers in the U.S. provide billions of dollars of unpaid care each year, and work closely with home care agencies to keep their loved ones safe and healthy at home. HCAOA urges all members to contact their Senators and Representatives to encourage them to sign on as a sponsor of this important legislation. This bill has strong bipartisan support, and the more sponsors a bill has, the better chance it has of being passed.
