U.S. APPEALS COURT UPHOLDS 2012-16 FUEL STANDARDS
A three-judge panel has upheld the Obama administration's ability to limit greenhouse gas emissions, including setting 2012-16 fuel-efficiency standards and tailpipe limits. The U.S. Court of Appeals in Washington dismissed challenges brought by states led by Texas and major industries. According to The Detroit News, the decision is a win for the Obama administration, which plans to finalize the 2017-25 fuel-efficiency standards and greenhouse gas emissions limits by August. The rules will hike requirements to 54.5 mpg by 2025. Industries are concerned the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) could further limit carbon emissions without congressional action. In 2007, the Supreme Court ruled in Massachusetts vs. EPA by a 5-4 vote that the agency had to regulate greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act if it found them to be a danger to human health. In 2009, the EPA named tailpipe emission from automobiles as a danger to human health. In 2010, the Obama administration finalized 2012-16 tailpipe emissions limits and fuel economy requirements, hiking fleet wide standards to 34.1 mpg by 2016. WHY GENERATION Y SEES NO NEED TO GET BEHIND THE WHEEL
Entry level buyers that the auto industry depends on to keep hope alive no longer seem interested in buying cars, or driving in general. Reuters reports that more than one-fourth of 16- to 34-year-olds do not even have a driver’s license. According to Forbes, this could be a huge problem for the auto industry, since Generation Y is bigger than the post-World War II baby boom. It’s been clear for the past 5 years that many teens were not even getting their driver’s licenses in high school. One reason was the restraints by several states on teen drivers. Secondly, experts place fault to helicopter parents for doing everything for their children, including driving them from place to place, as opposed to having them risk getting in an accident. The economy is also a huge issue. Increased tuition costs over the years have forced young people to save their money from part-time/summer jobs to pay for their education and/or rent. Lastly, Millennials place a higher priority on the environment than previous generations, making public transportation a more appealing option than driving. This whole issue is a challenge for automobile makers as they look for ways to make the neutral generation enthused about driving again.

LET EVERYDAY MESSAGES ADVERTISE FOR YOU
Many companies overlook the influence of the email’s signature’s ability to drive traffic to their websites. Often times, companies spend a lot of money on advertising their sites to get priority placement on certain sites. However, countless emails go out each day, why not link the recipients to your website through your email signature.
Most people are using a basic automatic signature line, also called a “tag line,” with your name and contact information. The same email tool used to set up your signature can also be used to add your website, or even your social media links.
In addition, you can even customize your signature line to promote benefits on your website. You can even create more than one signature to have readily available when appropriate. You may want prospects to click on your main homepage, or invite existing customers to check out a new product by clicking to a different page. And you can even inform media contacts of your speaking events by directing them to yet another page.
Ensuring that your website offers hints to products, having a “helpful hints” link on customer service emails, or even having coupons readily available to print through your website can all create positive recognition to your company.
