On Tuesday, May 7th, we invite you to join your IADA Board of Directors as we host a Dealer Day in Springfield to meet with state legislators and discuss the importance of franchised new car dealers, the future of the automotive retail industry and the future of your businesses. Nothing is more powerful than getting in front of lawmakers, sharing your personal stories and urging them to support franchised new car dealers in their local communities.
Already the Legislature and Governor have enacted a $15 minimum wage for Illinois. A proposal to cap the retailer's discount to $1,000 per month is being considered and for the sixth consecutive year Sen. Oberweis proposed to eliminate the Sunday Closing Law.
Speakers include: Illinois Governor JB Pritzker (invited), Representative Jay Hoffman (D), Swansea, House Assistant Majority Leader and Senator Bill Brady (R), Bloomington, Senate Republican Leader.
Following the luncheon meeting we have Capitol visits and conclude with a Legislative Reception/BBQ with members of the Illinois General Assembly from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at our IADA Offices overlooking the State Capitol.
Dealers ask how they can help IADA in advocating on behalf of franchised dealers - we need a good showing of dealers to visit with their legislators and join us for a half day meeting to promote our industry!
