IADA Dealers Are Strong - Successfully Stop Warranty Reimbursement Repeal

With the Fall Veto Session over, we have been able to fight off the latest attempt to repeal our Warranty Reimbursement law.  We want to thank all our dealers and dealership employees who participated in our IADA Advocacy effort by sending nearly 1,000 messages to our elected officials.  

Your dealerships have long provided the reassurance of reliable, accountable service to protect the safety of the driving public. Last year our legislative efforts helped lawmakers take the extra step by ending practices that allowed auto manufacturers to significantly underestimate repair times and pay less than fair-market wages for certified technicians completing important warranty repairs.  We are thrilled to keep this very beneficial law on the books.

IADA fully expects another attempt by the manufacturers to repeal the current warranty law next year.  Illinois has the strongest warranty reimbursement rate and time allowances in the country.  In fact, there are other states trying to pass similar legislation in their respective legislatures. The vehicle manufacturers will do all in their power to prevent the Illinois Warranty Law from spreading to other states.  It is imperative we continue to defeat these proposals.
