SOS DRIVERS' FACILITIES AND CVR ASSISTANCE
The Illinois SOS Drivers' Facilities are closed at least through April, and will have revised policies once reopened. This will have no effect on your IADA-CVR work sent to us for daily processing. SOS has asked us to forward their notification. The focus is that their facilities will not be open to the public and any applications that are not processed thru IADA-CVR should be mailed to their central Howlett Building in Springfield.
Although SOS is suspending penalties for late submission of title applications, it is recommended that dealers make every attempt to continue filing title applications within 20 days after the sale so that liens will relate back to the date of sale rather than the date the title application is received by SOS. Additionally, the Illinois Department of Revenue has not extended the due date for filing and paying sales tax on motor vehicle transactions. CVR is still here every day to support our dealers and remains the fastest way to process title applications. |

CVR PROVIDES OPPORTUNITY TO ASSIST AND INCREASE POTENTIAL SALES TRAFFIC
While the SOS Driver's Facilities are closed and even when reopened with no public access, although the state is extending its renewal period for license plates, many consumers will still be anxious and concerned about their plates being expired. A great way for dealerships to increase foot traffic and potential sales appointments would be to offer to renew customer license plates at your facility. If you would like help setting up your cashier to renew registration stickers or for assistance with any part of the CVR process, please send an email to IL@cvrreg.com. CVR is still here every day to support our Dealers. |
