Electronic Processing Option for Dealers Impacted by Cyberthreat

Please click this link to view a revised tutorial prepared by CVR for processing vehicle sales tax returns on the Department of Revenue website and title applications on the Secretary of State website for dealers impacted by the CDK cyberthreat.  The tutorial includes information about the TRP process as well.  When issuing a TRP, it is essential that the superuser confirms the issued TRP before exiting the TRP system or you will not be able to issue additional TRPs.

If the TRP is not confirmed by the superuser in error, a copy of the TRP must be emailed to TRP@ilsos.gov to clear the superuser to issue additional TRPs.

For any dealers who have pending transactions that were started before the cyberthreat and cannot be completed yet, IADA is working with the Illinois Department of Revenue and the Secretary of State’s Office on extending the tax filing and title application submission deadlines.  IADA has emphasized that dealers should not be penalized for late payments resulting from uncontrollable events.  IADA will update you once we receive their responses.
