CVR Has Full Restoration With State Today

We are thrilled to report that CVR is now able to reengage access to the SOS system and our CVR process is operational in Illinois.

We want to take this opportunity to thank all our loyal dealers and staffs for your patience and exceptional efforts working on many different hybrid approaches as we worked with you to continue processing your customer’s applications.  Please know that during this criminal cyberattack on CDK, CVR was closed out of an abundance of safety for all dealerships’ customer data.  It has taken a Herculean effort with hundreds of IT specialists from around the country working 24-hour days to restart the process and get SOS approval to reengage access to their system.

We are excited to begin refocusing on the many enhancements that both IADA and CVR have planned for the near future for your ERT process.

Below is our best guidance for how to proceed with completing any of your pending deals that may have been initiated traditionally in the CVR system and then incorporated a hybrid approach to processing some of the transaction using the SOS PERT system of the IDOR MyTax system.

Pending Deals in CVR – with no MyTax (paid taxes) or PERT (IL SOS website application) transaction created for VIN#

Pending Deal with Prepaid Taxes and application that is not already sent in to IADA with a check - complete in CVR.

Pending Deal with Prepaid Taxes and application that is already sent in to IADA with a check – Leave in pending status until further instructions.

Pending Deal with No Taxes Paid and delivery date on or before May 28th – Can be completed in CVR.

Pending Deal with No Taxes Paid and delivery date on or after May29th – Don’t complete in CVR until further instructions.

Please reach out to your account executive for scenarios that are not in this list.

Pending Deals in CVR – With taxes paid in MyTax and no PERT title application created for Vin#

Pending Deals with taxes paid in MyTax (paid taxes) and no PERT (IL SOS website application): Complete in CVR. In CVR under the Sales section you will need to select Interstate Carrier in the drop-down of Exempt. In Exempt number enter – DUP and the 9-digit tax return number on your MyTax St556 tax return for that vin#.  Obviously, these transactions aren't rolling stock, but this is a workaround that IDOR will recognize as the process using the CVR application and the MyTax return.

Pending Deals in CVR – MyTax, PERT and TRP issued created for Vin# - Transaction must be deleted in CVR, if plates and stickers were issued, they will need to be returned with CVR inventory return report to IADA.

Pending Deals in CVR – Client used the tax return number from the unpaid taxes in CVR to create PERT application.

  1. If no TRP was issued and paperwork not sent in – void doc in Pert and complete in CVR when back up.
  2. If PERT Application is completed with a CVR non-prepaid ST556 tax return number and TRP was issued – prepay taxes in CVR, then void the transaction the next day and mail in the PERT application with the completed ST556 tax return form.

IADA/CVR will be auditing all submitted applications and will reach out with issues and/or missing documents regarding title applications that are received.

Please reach out to your account executive for any questions you may have.
