COVID Phase 5 Reopening Starts Friday, June 11th

After over a year of COVID-related restrictions on businesses, Illinois is set to enter the final phase, Phase 5, on Friday, June 11th. Under Phase 4, offices and retail businesses were restricted to 60% capacity. Starting June 11th, offices and businesses will be able to return to full capacity. IADA Legislative Directories to be Mailed

Unfortunately, we had to find a new provider for our bi-annual IADA Legislative Directory and these are now being printed and should be mailed to the membership soon. The new format includes your legislators' photos and contacts in color for the first time. These will be current for the remainder of this year and in 2022. This will be a useful guide for our membership as we continue to further enhance your grassroots efforts in helping us represent the dealer voice. Watch for our upcoming Legislative Alerts as we will soon begin our Advocacy Campaign in contacting the Governor's Office seeking his support of SB 58 - which restores the trade in tax credit; HB 3940 - Increases dealer compensation for warranty work and parts, disallows manufacturer surcharges; provides for adjustments to time allowances; SB 573 - 90 day drive away permit and $20 dealer title; and HB 2435 - Amends the Franchise Act to prevent a manufacturer from prohibiting a dealer's offer of secondary products and prohibits a manufacturer from mandating that a dealer use only manufacturer approved or endorsed secondary products.

Locally Imposed Sales Tax Changes Effective July 1st

Beginning July 1, 2021, the rates of certain locally imposed sales taxes that are administered by the Illinois Department of Revenue will change. Please refer to the attached bulletin from the Illinois Department of Revenue to see if you are affected. Please note that these sales tax rate changes apply only to general merchandise and do not apply to vehicles. The Department of Revenue bulletin outlining the sales tax increases can be found here. |
