A NOTE TO OUR DEALERS ABOUT EXCITING EHANCEMENTS & THE CURRENT IL ENVIRONMENT OF TITLE PROCESSING

IADA has worked successfully with SOS to raise the allowable ERT fee from the current $25 to $35, effective March 1st.  This fee has not been adjusted since the inception of the ERT process in 2001.

In accordance with the statute, the maximum fee imposed on the customer may not exceed the service provider's fee plus an amount equal to 1.5 times that amount.  Therefore, if the service provider fee is $14, the dealership may charge an additional $21 for the total of $35 maximum fee.  This adjustment will allow dealers to recoup an additional $6 (from $15 to $21) per ERT transaction.

Over the last 20+ years CVR & IADA have partnered to improve the titling and registration process for dealers in the state of Illinois. IADA & CVR are starting the year off with a bang by launching some market-leading enhancements for our dealers. This week we are going live with the CVR fully-integrated 50 state solution powered by the industry leader ATC.  Together CVR & ATC provide dealers with decades of combined experience and innovation in the title and registration industry. Additionally, we are improving our operations so that you can track applications from the time IADA receives the application to submission to SOS.

IADA currently processes all your applications and delivers them the same day we receive them to SOS. In the event we receive a delinquent application, we ensure you get that back the same day.

As business leaders, we have all experienced factors which impede our business, some unfortunately are outside of our control. The SOS is currently experiencing multiple factors influenced by Covid-19 which are negatively impacting their performance. The SOS has mandated overtime hours to combat their current backlog and we have offered our support in their efforts.  As you may be aware, some dealer leadership teams have even tried contacting their legislators to discuss this issue, but faced similar delays as legislators have rescheduled session due to the same Covid health and protocol issues and concerns.  As we've gotten used to saying - you just can't make this stuff up.

IADA has been building relationships with all potential SOS candidates as Secretary White has indicated he is not running for another term. IADA & CVR will continue to communicate the impact that SOS has on our industry and plan to introduce ways to support their efforts in modernization and process improvement.

In closing, join us in celebrating our recent legislative/rule change wins.

  • 30-day drive away is now 90 days
  • Doc fee raised from $150 to $300+
  • Just last week allowed for raising ERT fee from $25 to $35
  • Created a $20 dealer title instead of $155 when no room for reassignment (unfortunately still waiting on SOS to fix on their end so we can perform the function electronically)

Your partnership and trust as a dealer community is what enables IADA-CVR to get these passed. You can count on IADA & CVR to get involved and support improvements for dealers.
