Urge your House and Senate members to support the “Creating Opportunities Now for Necessary and Effective Care Technologies (CONNECT) for Health Act of 2025” to permanently enact telehealth flexibilities.
Telehealth waivers allow people to access care, offered by a wide range of providers, regardless of geographical location, delivered via video or audio technology. Hospice and home health providers are able to perform face-to-face certifications and recertifications via telehealth because of these vital flexibilities–but due to the January 30 expiration, providers may no longer be able to do so. Action is needed to ensure uninterrupted, permanent authority.
Previously extended on a year-over-year basis, the flexibilities were paused during the historic 2025 government shutdown with disastrous effects: older adults’ access to care was limited, and providers navigated complex scheduling and staffing issues to ensure visits could occur in person. The government shutdown provided clear evidence that these flexibilities are invaluable and require immediate, permanent authorization.
Take action to encourage your members of Congress to support the “Creating Opportunities Now for Necessary and Effective Care Technologies (CONNECT) for Health Act of 2025” (S 1261/HR 4206) and stop the telehealth cliff by authorizing these flexibilities permanently.
