Help stop drunk driving in New York
The problem of drunk driving in New York is not over. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2023, there were 325 people killed in drunk driving crashes—a 27% increase from 2019 when there were 256 people killed in these preventable crashes. A 2703 will ensure more ignition interlocks are installed thereby preventing incidences of drunk driving and helping to save lives.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving needs your help to urge your lawmakers A 2703 and S 2517 by Assemblywoman Woerner and Senator Cooney, which would require six months of ignition interlock use before regaining a regular license.

An ignition interlock is a device about the size of a smart phone that is wired into the ignition system of a vehicle. If an interlock detects alcohol in a user, the vehicle will not start.

On this page, please email your state lawmakers in support of this lifesaving legislation.
