MAA Members,

This morning, MBA’s President & CEO, Bob Broeksmit, CMB, issued a statement in support of H.R. 7024, the “Tax Relief for American Families and Workers Act of 2024,” ahead of the ongoing consideration and “markup” of the proposal today by the House Ways and Means Committee.

The bill includes important provisions related to the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program long called for by MBA and a broad coalition of industry partners.

See MBA’s letter in favor of the bill (particularly the LIHTC enhancements) here. You can also find a letter from the broader coalition in support of the bill’s housing provisions that are targeted towards the increased production of affordable rental units nationwide.

MBA will keep you informed on the outcome of the committee markup – and the progress of the bill through both the House and Senate – as events continue to unfold.
