During last week's 2024 Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago, MBA’s leadership participated in a wide range of political events featuring key elected officials and their staffs, including breakfasts, luncheons, panels, and receptions – at all hours of the day and night! This dynamic set of events provided a space to raise issues, bolster relationships, and foster strategic communications between policymakers and MBA’s Senior Officers and staff to strengthen the industry's legislative and regulatory positioning.

Both the Republican and Democratic nominating conventions were each historic and allowed for a robust discussion of housing policies and proposals that apply at all levels of government – local, state, and federal. Here are some of the big moments captured in photos:

MBA Chair Mark Jones attended a luncheon honoring the Democratic nominee for Vice President, Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota.
MBA Chair-Elect Laura Escobar met with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) at a women's reception held on day three of the DNC.
Key House appropriator Rep. Mike Quigley (D-IL) met with MBA leaders and staff during an on-field experience at the historic Wrigley Field.
MBA leadership conversed with Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA) and Senator Mazie Hirono (D-HI) at a Maui Strong wildfire relief benefit concert.
MBA Chair-Elect Laura Escobar, MBA's AVP of Political Affairs Jamey Lynch, AMP, and active MAA and MBA member Kevin Popoli with Reps. Nikema Williams (D-GA), Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ), and Frank Mrvan (D-IN) at a kickoff reception on night one of the DNC.
