Act Now to Secure RPh Billing Authority for Immunization and Test-to-Treat Services

PA 97 of 2023 was passed in recognition that pharmacies are critical access points for essential healthcare services. As the pharmacy market continues to consolidate under reimbursement pressures, independent pharmacies and small chains are increasingly becoming the only convenient access point in many communities. These are the exact same pharmacies that will need to exercise independent pharmacy authority for these services as the programs they currently rely on to obtain delegated authority are likely to sunset once the administrative rules are approved and the bill is fully implemented. Without the requirements for provider recognition and coverage under SB 107, patients may lose these pharmacy locations as an access point for immunizations and viral testing programs.

Contact your legislator today to secure pharmacist billing authority for immunizations and test-to-treat services legally authorized under Michigan law.
