A Message from President Gracemarie Rozea
Dear dedicated NYS PTA advocates,
I am excited and humbled by the opportunity to serve as your new President. While I know many of you attended our 120th Annual Convention, many were unable because of family or other commitments. I wanted to share the speech that I gave at our annual banquet as well as my email address, president@nyspta.org.
I look forward to meeting and hearing from you all over the next two years, and hope you will embrace my theme 'Leading the Way'. As always, continue the amazing work you do each and every day to support our children and families and don't forget to share your 'Why PTA'.
Warm regards,
Gracemarie Rozea, President |

What a Convention!
The beautiful town of Saratoga Springs played host to the 120th Annual NYS PTA Convention, rolling out the red carpet for nearly 400 delegates, guests and exhibitors!
It was an exciting, advocacy filled and fun convention with 29 informative workshops as we celebrated the election of our new President Gracemarie Rozea and adopted two new resolutions and a host of bylaw changes.
National PTA President Laura Bay's keynote was inspiring, 67 first timers received a rousing welcome at the First Timers' Table and the Reflection's Art Gallery was a visual reminder of how important the arts are to student education.
Participation at convention, our annual business meeting, is essential to the success of our organization. You shape our policy and move the association forward, not only addressing the needs of our members but most importantly, the needs of our children.
Please share your experience with your fellow members and plan on coming again next year. We charge you with participating or bringing someone who has not attended before, as we sustain our mission of everychild.onevoice®!
NYS PTA is Leading the Way to our 121st Convention in Niagara Falls, November 10-12, 2017. Mark your calendars and share the date! Zip lining across the Falls anyone?
See here for the press release and here for pictures from Convention! Plus check out Facebook and Twitter!

PTA Takes Action - Commit to Positive, Safe Environments for All Students
National PTA is committed to the well-being of our children and ensuring that schools create a safe and inclusive learning environment for all children.
Today, National PTA joined other leading education organizations in a national call to action addressing the recent reports of bullying behavior in schools. Every child deserves to come to school excited to learn in a safe and nurturing environment without the fear of bullying, violence or discrimination.
This call to action follows National PTA's statement on its commitment to positive, safe environments for all students and a recent webinar on bullying and cyberbullying prevention.
It has long been a top priority of National PTA to make sure all children have a supportive environment where they can thrive and learn. We are committed to working with schools, school systems, educators, parents and the community to ensure all children have the opportunity to receive a great education in a setting free from discrimination, harassment and violence.
We encourage you to share this statement among your membership and within your schools and communities to support and affirm safe and inclusive school learning environments for all students.
