  NYS PTA Reiterates Support for Parents' Education Decisions as State Tests Begin Next Week  
 

As state testing starts next week, NYS PTA would like to remind our members that we strongly support a parent's right to make informed educational decisions for their children.

"NYS PTA strongly supports a parent's right to make informed educational decisions for their children," noted Gracemarie Rozea, NYS PTA President. "We fully support the right of every parent to decide what is best for their child, which includes decisions around their child's participation in state assessment."

  Former NYS PTA Vice President Joins Board of Regents + Letter from Commissioner Elia  
 

The NYS Legislature recently named retired Ithaca teacher Susan Mittler to the soon to be vacant Board of Regents seat formerly held by Regent James Tallon.

A retired teacher, Ms. Mittler is also a former member of the NYS PTA Board of Managers, serving as a Vice President, as well as a Substance Abuse Chair and Environment Chair. Read more here.
