Hundreds of NYS PTA members attended a critical Leadership Conference at Utica College, as they continue their mission to make every child's potential a reality.
"The Summer Leadership Conference brings parents, caregivers and educators from around the state together, to tackle the challenges facing our schools and communities and to celebrate successes," said NYS PTA President Gracemarie Rozea. "We are especially thankful to our members in attendance for giving up their time to 'Lead the Way' to support ALL children."
Keynote presentations focused on information from the NYS Office of Mentoring and discussion of the Citizen Preparedness Corps. Further, 37 workshops included training on supporting children with special needs, combating the heroin and opioid crisis, school aid and family engagement.
One of the highlights was a service project coordinated by NYS PTA Youth Members, who proudly collected hundreds of shoes and sneakers for the Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency.
