Make Sure New York Opts-In to the Federal Scholarship Tax Credit
Starting in 2027, the new Federal Scholarship Tax Credit (FSTC) will let taxpayers redirect up to $1,700 of their federal income taxes to nonprofit scholarship organizations that provide tuition assistance for students in Catholic schools and support for many services for students in public schools. If New York participates, it can generate hundreds of millions of dollars in additional funds to support the educational needs of New York’s children.

Although Governor Hochul has already announced her intention to opt-in to the program, she won’t make a final decision until she considers the federal regulations that are still being developed. It is vitally important that the Governor know how important this FSCT is to you and that you are counting on her to follow through and officially opt-in to the program.

Thank Governor Hochul for her support and urge her to opt in to support New York’s families.
