Congress: The FY26 budget must address poverty
Congress has created a government shutdown.

It is frustrating that congressional gridlock and procrastination has our country in this situation, and yet even after the government eventually reopens, Congress must pass funding bills (i.e., the FY26 budget) that serve the American people. That means prioritizing programs that reduce poverty and eliminate barriers to prosperity.

This year, it is also critical that Congress include safeguards in the budget that ensure that money will be spent as intended. No more administration impoundments and rescissions.

Please write your members of Congress today and tell them to pass a responsible budget now.
