Congress Must Address the Affordable Housing Crisis
Millions of low-income working families struggle because of our affordable housing crisis. Since 1960, renters’ median earnings have gone up 5 percent while rents have risen by 61 percent -- and only 37 affordable and available rental homes exist for every 100 extremely low-income renter households. Meanwhile only one in four eligible low-income households receives federal housing assistance. We must send a strong message to policymakers to ensure that they make affordable housing a priority.

TAKE ACTION: Tailor this template to send a message to Congress urging them to prioritize increasing access to affordable rental housing and homeownership policies that can reduce racial wealth inequality.
