Tuberculosis, still thought as a disease of the past, remains terribly deadly today. In 2021, the disease took 1.6 million lives worldwide and kills more people each year than any other infectious disease except COVID-19.
That's why Congress needs to pass The End TB Now Act. This bill would require the U.S. to prioritize TB resources to countries and communities most impacted by the disease. It would also set up accountability measures to track success. We can bring an end to TB, but it will take U.S. leadership to get us there.
