Media: The Global Fund saves lives. The U.S. must support it fully.
Last year, the Global Fund helped provide HIV treatment for 25.6 million people and tuberculosis treatment for 7.4 million people. Since 2002, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria has helped save 70 million lives. The Global Fund's world impact is truly monumental.

At the Global Fund's 8th replenishment this fall, the U.S. pledged to uphold its 1:2 matching commitment — $1 for every $2 from other donors. This vital three-year U.S. pledge of $4.6 billion will be life-saving. Members of Congress need to hear from you. Thank them for their support of this pledge!

But in addition to this new promise, we also need to pay what’s already owed. Congress has already appropriated promised Global Fund money, but it is still stuck in the U.S. treasury. We cannot wait for it to be sent. We need all U.S. pledged funds to be delivered as soon as possible.

Submit a letter to the editor. Urge Congress to prioritize the Global Fund this year through past and current pledge fulfillment.
