U.S. Senators Must Improve Access to Care by Reforming Prior Authorization
The U.S. House of Representatives has voted to protect Medicare Advantage patients by streamlining prior authorization requirements that arbitrarily delay or deny access to medically necessary care. A reformed and electronic prior authorization process would allow fewer delays in care and expand access for millions of patients.

With legislation passed in the House, similar passage in the Senate will send this legislation to the President’s desk. That’s why Simple Tasks is asking you to reach out to your Senators and ask them to support The Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act.

This important legislation would require Medicare Advantage plans to establish a process to streamline authorization for routine procedures, allow for “real-time” approval and set up electronic prior authorization. The bill would also require the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to report how extensively prior authorization is used and how often insurers approve or deny relevant medications.

Act today! Ask your Senators to pass the Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act before this Congressional session ends.
