Tell Congress to Protect AHRQ
The Administration is restructuring the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), including the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). This reorganization puts AHRQ in immediate danger, with reports suggesting a 90% funding cut and widespread staff reductions. This would effectively dismantle the only federal agency statutorily authorized to conduct health services research, eliminating critical patient-centered research that improves healthcare nationwide.

AHRQ plays a unique and irreplaceable role in supporting primary care clinical and practice research, ensuring that evidence-based solutions are implemented across the country. AHRQ improves healthcare quality, efficiency, and accessibility by supporting research that strengthens care delivery, enhances patient outcomes, and reduces costs. AHRQ is crucial because it ensures that healthcare decisions are guided by evidence, leading to safer, more effective, and equitable care for people across the country. AHRQ's Center for Primary Care Research is also the only federally designated research center dedicated to primary care. Without AHRQ, primary care research would be significantly underfunded, threatening innovation, cost-saving healthcare solutions, and patient safety.

Contact your members of Congress today and urge them to oppose the dismantling of AHRQ!
