Tell Senators to Pass S.1640 -
On May 7, Sen. Roger Marshall, MD (R-KS) introduced the ‘‘Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act of 2025’’ to increase Medicare payments for physicians. This follows Rep. Greg Murphy, MD (R-NC) introducing a very similar bill in the House in January, which has since garnered 167 co-sponsors.

The bill proposes an 8.51% increase in Medicare physician reimbursement starting June 1, 2025, effectively reversing the 2.83% Medicare cut that physician practices have faced since the beginning of the year. The SVS urges you to contact your senators and strongly advocate for this crucial legislation, which provides much-needed relief to physician practices and ensures access to quality care for Medicare beneficiaries.

The House version of the bill has received overwhelming support from the medical community. The SVS, along with eighty other healthcare organizations, including all 50 state medical associations, have called upon lawmakers to advance this important legislation.

SVS members, your action is essential!  Contact your senators today and urge them to support the ‘‘Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act of 2025.’’  Together, we can secure fair compensation for vascular surgeons and maintain high-quality care for patients.
