Request your congressperson and senator to meet with you while they are in their district (your area).
(A guide on how to meet with your legislator can be found here.)
Now is the time to raise your voice. Urge your Congress members to contact HHS Secretary Kennedy and ask how the administration plans to protect and prioritize essential programs for chronic diseases like ankylosing spondylitis.
Some things to consider:
Together, we must ensure that crucial support for people living with rheumatic diseases continues.
Background:
We know much more about our disease and ways to reduce its impact on us and the next generation. Life with AS has a whole new outlook compared to just 20, 30, and especially 40 years ago.
During this time, SAA has worked closely with spondylitis researchers, including those at NIH, to make significant strides in understanding the disease. We understand much more about what works and, just as importantly, what doesn’t work.
Through individual donations, SAA continuously supports innovative research and researchers. However, there is still so much we need to learn. We believe we can find a cure and prevent spondyloarthritis, but only if science continues to receive support.
