This grant is housed within the Community College Research Center, which studies community college student success in states including Arkansas, California, Florida, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee, New York, Virginia, Texas, Washington.
This grant funds the Predoctoral Interdisciplinary Research Training Program in Postsecondary Education (PIRT-PSE). It is the first PIRT program at Teachers College and the first anywhere to make postsecondary education its primary focus. Fellows have opportunities to investigate broad, systems-level policies and programs as well as specific interventions and strategies designed to help students prepare for and succeed in college and the labor market. The training focus corresponds to the Improving Education Systems, Career and Technical Education, and Postsecondary and Adult Education topics in the IES education research grants program, and the methodological focus is on exploration, efficacy, and replication studies.
