Safeguard sensitive trout habitat by supporting oil & gas reforms

Responsible energy development and conservation need not be mutually exclusive, but it depends on smart, balanced policies that support diverse public land uses.

Rolling back key oil and gas leasing reforms would jeopardize valuable fish and wildlife habitat. Please join Trout Unlimited in urging Congress to keep fiscally responsible leasing reforms and steer leasing away from sensitive trout habitats.

Petition Text

As our country seeks to increase domestic energy production, it’s more important than ever to ensure responsible oil and gas development on public lands. As a public land user and constituent, I ask lawmakers to defend balanced oil and gas policies that protect America’s lands and waters.

Smart leasing policies are essential for fiscal accountability and proper stewardship of our nation’s valuable public lands, waterways, and energy resources.

Recent updates—including the end of noncompetitive leasing and a nominal lease nomination fee—have modernized the program to increase efficiencies, ensure taxpayers receive a fair return from their development, and facilitate land management that balance multiple uses – including conservation.

Please defend and support these common-sense energy development policies and protect sensitive fish and wildlife habitat on public lands.
