Tell Congress: Cosponsor the Bipartisan Lawful Hemp Protection Act
Reps. Andy Barr (R-KY) and Angie Craig (D-MN) have introduced the bipartisan Lawful Hemp Protection Act (H.R. 9830), landmark federal legislation that would establish a national regulatory framework for hemp-derived products and replace the federal hemp ban scheduled to take effect this November.

Without congressional action, that impending ban threatens to wipe out 95% of the current hemp marketplace by disrupting lawful hemp businesses, limiting consumer access, and creating significant uncertainty for farmers, manufacturers, retailers, and other stakeholders across the hemp supply chain. The Lawful Hemp Protection Act offers a better path forward by replacing prohibition with responsible regulation.

The legislation would establish federal standards for labeling, packaging, age restrictions, product safety, cannabinoid oversight, synthetic cannabinoid restrictions, hemp-derived beverages, domestic sourcing requirements, and interstate commerce protections. It would also direct FDA to develop science-based serving limits and provide the regulatory clarity the hemp industry has long needed.

While stakeholder discussions will continue as the legislative process moves forward, introduction of the Lawful Hemp Protection Act marks a major step toward a durable federal solution that protects consumers while preserving lawful hemp commerce.

Use this simple form to contact your Representative today and urge them to cosponsor the bipartisan Lawful Hemp Protection Act. Together, we can help advance a science-based regulatory framework that supports American farmers, businesses, and consumers.
