From 2015 to 2023, Congress made medical research a top priority by providing significant funding increases for the National Institutes of Health (NIH). However, the lack of a funding increase for fiscal year (FY) 2024 and regular delays in the appropriations process risk jeopardizing years of progress against cancer and hundreds of other diseases. With so many promising research opportunities, we can't afford to stop the momentum.
For National Cancer Research Month, let Congress know that NIH funding is important to you. Join the AACR and the broader medical research community in urging Congress to provide $51.3 billion, an increase of $4.2 billion, for the NIH's foundational work in FY 2025.
