Service Coordinators are the heartbeat of affordable housing. Without their assistance and knowledge, hundreds of thousands of older adults and low-income families would be worse off. Service coordinators increase self sufficiency, improve lives and reduce state and federal costs.
Congress must strengthen its investment in service coordination to ensure all residents living in federally subsidized housing have access to the support a service coordinator provides. It's necessary to strengthen the resources available for existing service coordinators so they can stay committed to their mission and expand the profession to serve more Americans.
