Ask Your Representative to Support Pelvic Health Physical Therapy
Pelvic health physical therapy is a crucial part of postpartum recovery. It helps new mothers regain muscle control, support tissue repair, and heal after childbirth, including cesarean section recovery. Yet many mothers lack access to, or awareness of, these essential services, and even some healthcare providers may not fully recognize their importance.

The Optimizing Postpartum Outcomes Act (H.R. 4074) is bipartisan legislation that aims to close these gaps. The bill guides state Medicaid and CHIP programs in administering pelvic health services during the postpartum and neonatal periods and authorizes programs to raise awareness among both patients and providers about the importance of pelvic health examinations and therapy.

Educating mothers and providers about pelvic health physical therapy is vital for long-term maternal health. It only takes a minute to let your members of Congress know that women using Medicaid and CHIP deserve access to this essential care.
