Prevent Cuts to Home Health: Ask Your Members of Congress to Support the Home Health Stabilization Act
The Home Health Stabilization Act (H.R. 5142) has been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives. This bipartisan legislation would prevent impending cuts to home health care under Medicare by requiring the Secretary of Health and Human Services to issue a special rule for calendar years 2026 and 2027, providing a positive payment adjustment to the Medicare home health payment system.

The proposed Medicare Home Health rule for 2026 includes a 9% cut to the home health fee-for-service payment rate, threatening access to essential home health services.  H.R. 5142 would prevent these cuts and give the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services more time to address the issues with the Patient Driven Groupings Model.

Please take a few minutes to contact your members of Congress and urge them to cosponsor the Preserving Access to Home Health Act (H.R. 5142).

Thank you for your advocacy and support of the physical therapy profession!
